The dishonesty of the hotel reception. Read carefully before signing the check-in contract otherwise, you will be fooled !! I had a very unpleasant experience with this hotel: I was given a non-smoking room, with an open-air terrace and a clear view. The next day I received a 50 euros fine because I smoked on the open-air terrace. When speaking with the receptionist, I realized that I had already signed the check-in paper with them which indicates that I am not allowed to smoke all over the floor, without my knowing it and none of the receptionists mentioned it (to confirm their real intentions). I know I should have read the paper in detail before signing but this is the first time I've been tricked by a hotel! I have traveled to many countries and this is the first time I have experienced this scam.. Throughout our trip the Thais were warm and super nice, unfortunately, the workers in this hotel were not among them. They only want to scrape more money and scam their customers. Well done! Other points to note: - The photos of the swimming pool are misleading: it is a tiny old roof top swimming pool with 3 sunbeds - Cockroaches in the room, it's great for a 4-star... - Bed was horrible and hard - No convenience store nearby - Not a great location, far from everything - Very poor soundproofing: you can hear other rooms opening and closing doors all the time. Stayed here for a couple of days with my wife and children. Staff went above and beyond. They were ever so kind and professional in their jobs. They all gave me the feeling that they took great pride in their jobs. The hotel is located on Th. Ratchadaphisek, about 10 minutes of walking from BTS Ratchayothin and the Major Cineplex with the same name. The hotel offers a free tuk ruk to the BTS station between 09:00 and 18:00 hrs. It can be reached by car conveniently as well. Opposite the hotel there are a couple of very good restaurants. Central districts of Bangkok can be reached in about 45 - 60 minutes. Breakfast in the hotel is good. There’s a rooftop pool on the top floor as well as a tennis court. We stayed in the two bedroom suite, with two adults and two young children.

Stayed here few years back, recently stayed there again. The condition was not good, the AC was noisy, there was a lot of bird droppings on the balcony. I assume the hospitality industry around the world was not doing well, thus the upkeep and maintenance of the building was effected.

Friendly oasis of calm

We loved this hotel. Highly recommended. It is an oasis of calm in a busy city. Our room was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The varied range of foods provided at the breakfast buffet included both Thai, Chinese and Western food (and veggy) so we could eat tasty foods depending on our mood each day! We found the local night market opposite, 4 mins walk, (access via short pedestrian bridge), great for snacks and Thai food. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The reception area relaxed. When we came down to reception ready to go out, staff quickly got a taxi from the road to come to the reception area to pick us up and helped with the language issue, by talking to the driver for us about where we wanted to go. (Taxis are metered, plentiful and so cheap in Bangkok taking us door-to-door, directly to where we wanted go.) Hotel felt a safe, relaxed base from which to get to know this lovely city. After a hectic day sightseeing, we went to the local cinema, in a complex only 4 mins walk away, and ate food from the local food stalls as well as had a drink in one of the associated restaurants there in the same complex and bought something from the handy convenience store. At the end of the day, the best cocktail we found was actually in the restaurant back at the hotel! and the price was very reasonable. We had lunch at the hotel one day too. Although we didn’t need to take the complimentary tuk tuk-like shuttle to the BTS station ourselves, it looked convenient and fun. We could see the golf driving range from our bedroom window; 2 mins walk away, but we will have to try that another time! Equally we didn’t have time this trip to enjoy the great looking pool, tennis courts or gym on the roof. We will come back again! We learnt that, for some taxi drivers, we had to say that the hotel was next to the shell petrol station and opposite the Thai Pa-Nit Bank. Then, they had no problems finding it 😊, (if they hadn’t already known where it was).

This hotel was a gem. Such great value, very friendly staff and good location to some markets and street food. Highly recommended if you want a 4 star hotel at low cost. Easy access from airport via train with 1 change and a taxi ride.
